Vol. 473 No. 6

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Benefits.

Michael Ring

Question:

263 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Social Welfare if there is a ruling that a person who is not receiving the full unemployment assistance cannot apply for the back to work scheme. [1998/97]

To qualify under the back to work allowance scheme applicants must be unemployed for at least 12 months and have an entitlement to unemployment assistance at a minimum weekly rate of £40 for a single person or £62 for a married person. The current maximum personal weekly rates for these categories are £64.50 and £103 respectively.
