Vol. 474 No. 1

Written Answers. - Post-Polio Syndrome.

Mary Wallace

Question:

83 Miss M. Wallace asked the Minister for Health the action, if any, he intends to take to ensure that people suffering from post-polio syndrome have proper access to necessary aids and appliances. [2588/97]

Limerick East): People with post-polio syndrome are entitled to apply for assistance under a wide range of schemes available to all people with disabilities, including the provision of aids and appliances through the relevant health board. In view of the services available to people with post-polio syndrome, I do not consider it necessary to make special arrangements for them.
