Question:

102 Mr. N. Treacy asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the amount of money being allocated to FÁS in 1997 for all regions; the percentage increase, if any, sanctioned by the Government on employment schemes, training schemes and financial subvention; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2682/97]

The relevant Exchequer allocations made to FÁS in 1997 and the percentage increases over the final allocations provided for 1996 are set out in the following table.

The Exchequer allocations for 1997, combined with other income raised by FÁS itself and funding from the European Social Fund, were considered sufficient provision to enable FÁS to carry out its responsibilities in the current year.
