Vol. 474 No. 3

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Rory O'Hanlon

Question:

143 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for the Environment the number of households connected to group water schemes in the State. [2996/97]

The exact number of households currently connected to group water schemes is not known to my Department. Ongoing rationalisation and integration with public water supply networks has resulted in the take-over of some group schemes by local authorities and many existing group schemes have expanded since they were first established. My Department's best estimate at present is that up to 150,000 households are being served by group water schemes.

John O'Leary

Question:

144 Mr. O'Leary asked the Minister for the Environment if he will approve the proposed sewerage scheme extension at West End, Rathmore, County Kerry; and if he will make a statement setting out the current position on the matter. [3016/97]

The position is unchanged since the reply to Question No. 100 of 10 December 1996.
