Vol. 474 No. 3

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Éamon Ó Cuív

Question:

195 Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Justice when a land certificate will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Galway. [2775/97]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that the information supplied is insufficient to trace this application in the Land Registry. If the Deputy can let me have the date of lodgement and the name of the lodging party, I will have further inquiries made in the matter.

John Ellis

Question:

196 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Justice if she will request the land registry office to expedite the registration of lands at a location (details supplied) in County Leitrim. [2971/97]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that the registration referred to by the Deputy involves a Land Commission schedule. In the case of such schedules, the property is deemed to be registered as of date of vesting by the Land Commission. To enable completion of the registration in the Land Registry, an estate map is required from the Land Commission. The map was requested on 15 April 1996 and a reminder issued on 13 January 1997.

I am further informed that dealing number W5496/95 is related to the schedule in question and that a query issued on this dealing on 1 February 1997. The matter cannot proceed until the map is lodged by the Land Commission and the query raised is satisfactory discharged. It is not possible, therefore, to estimate a completion date at this stage.
