Question:

273 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the quantity of licences issued in the EU for the export of beef and live animals since 20 December 1996, the percentage issued to Irish traders; and his views on whether Irish traders received an equitable share. [3070/97]

The quantity for which licences were issued between 18 December 1996 and 26 January 1997 are set out in the following table:
