Legal costs of £126,604 were incurred during 1995 by my Department and the bodies under its aegis for professional legal services. The costs include approximately £80,000 incurred by the previous Government in relation to advice provided for Members at the end of and subsequent to their term of office in relation to matters which were inquired into by the Select Committee on Legislation and Security — Report No. 1478.
