Vol. 474 No. 3

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Ned O'Keeffe

Question:

98 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Health if he will have arrangements made to have a person (details supplied) in County Cork admitted for eye cataract removal at Cork University Hospital within the next week in view of the fact that she is caring for her husband who is disabled and in ill health; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that this lady has to drive her husband to his appointments and is finding it very difficult to care for her husband in view of her poor eyesight. [2870/97]

, Limerick East): As the determination of in-patient appointments is a matter for the hospital authorities in the first instance, I have asked the general manager of Cork University Hospital to investigate the position. Given the particular circumstances of this case, I have requested that he reply to the Deputy directly, as a matter of urgency.
