148 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the total costs to date arising out of the tribunal of inquiry into the beef industry; the names of the clients represented by counsel and solicitors that have been paid fees to date; if he will give a breakdown in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3258/97]

The total cost to date arising out of the tribunal of inquiry into the beef industry is £13,378,982.38.
