Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Eric Byrne — the urgent need to exert pressure on the UK authorities to ensure that planning permission for the proposed underground nuclear waste dump at Sellafield is denied; (2) Deputy Browne (Wexford)— the deplorable condition of St. Aidan's primary school, Enniscorthy, and the refusal of the Department of Education to honour a promise to upgrade the school following the amalgamation of two schools; (3) Deputy Lynch — the need to devise a system whereby all exclusions from school are notified immediately to the Department of Education; (4) Deputy Gallagher (Laoighis-Offaly)— the urgent need to provide a new Garda station for Tullamore, County Offaly, in view of the risk to the health and safety of the Garda Síochána and the public arising from the condition of the existing station; (5) Deputy Ring — the need to instruct the Western Health Board to appoint a dentist for the Belmullet area, County Mayo, either in a temporary or permanent capacity, in view of the delays in providing dental treatment for young people in the area; (6) Deputy Costello — the need to provide statutory protection for listed buildings; (7) Deputy Shortall — the urgent need to approve Dublin Corporation's plans for the redevelopment of the Ballymun estate, Dublin; (8) Deputy Flanagan — the future of the new Euro peat powered station for the Midlands; (9) Deputy Sargent — the need to stop the practice of water fluoridation by local authorities because of its effect on health and the environment; (10) Deputies Joe Walsh and Woods — that the decision to cut the butter voucher scheme by 50 per cent be reversed; (11) Deputy Gregory — the measures needed to deal with the very serious drugs problem in parts of the Gallanstown/Cherry Orchard area of Dublin 10; and (12) Deputy Eoin Ryan — the scientific report from the British inspector of pollution regarding the actual threat posed by the underground nuclear waste dump at Sellafield.

The matters raised by Deputies Gregory, Browne (Wexford), Joe Walsh and Woods and Eoin Ryan have been selected for discussion.
