, Limerick East): The policy for a national breast screening programme is set out in the document Cancer Services in Ireland: A National Strategy. My Department is at present engaged in drawing up an action programme to implement the recently announced national cancer strategy.
I will be making a very significant announcement in this regard in the immediate future and I will be indicating the funding to be made available for the various programmes, including the funding for breast screening.
