Question:

281 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the quantity of licences applied for in the EU for the export of beef and live animals since 20 December 1996; and the number and percentage issued to Irish traders. [4558/97]

The quantity of licences that were applied for in the EU and the quantity issued to Irish traders between 20 December 1996 and 9 February 1997 are set out in the following table:
