Vol. 475 No. 3

Written Answers. - Aer Lingus Funding.

Seán Kenny

Question:

114 Mr. S. Kenny asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the amount of matching Exchequer funding which was provided to Aer Lingus, in each of the years from 1989 to 1993, to match European Structural Fund funding under the Operational Programme for the Occupation Integration of Young People, Objective 4, for Pilot Training. [4751/97]

No Exchequer funding was provided by my Department to Aer Lingus for the purposes outlined by the Deputy. I understand from Aer Lingus that funds to match the European Structural Fund moneys referred to were provided from its own internal resources.

The operation of this programme was a matter for the Department of Enterprise and Employment.
