Question:

54 Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for Health if he will request the relevant health board to review the case of a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath who seeks help with travel costs for urgent cancer treatment in Dublin in view of the fact that this parliamentary question was raised by Deputy O'Rourke four weeks ago and to date the person in question has not been contacted. I have had further inquiries made of the Midland Health Board in the matter and I understand that a letter issued to the Deputy from the programme manager, community care on 28 January 1997. I am pleased to be able to inform the Deputy that the person concerned has been issued with a travel pass for the duration of his-her current course of treatment.
