Written Answers. - Project Planning Conditions.

Paul Bradford

Question:

67 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht if he will give details of the five conditions to which he refers in Parliamentary Question No. 222 of 22 January 1997. [4794/97]

The five additional conditions to the grant of planning permission by Cork County Council and An Bord Pleanála in respect of the demolition of the old Garda station in Doneraile and the development of a new Garda station and retail-residential premises on the site, recommended by the Heritage Council and the heritage service of my Department, and to which I referred in my reply to Parliamentary Question No. 222 of 22 January 1997 from Deputy Harney, are as follows: (1) that the original natural slates from the roof be salvaged and rescued; (2) that up and down timber sash windows be incorporated in the new building; (3) that the original limestone plinths and cast iron railings be refused; (4) that the original limestone cills be salvaged; and (5) that the limestone paviours and steps be salvaged and reused.
