Vol. 475 No. 3

Written Answers. - ESF Funding.

Tony Gregory

Question:

93 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Education if she will review the decision to refuse a person (details supplied) in Dublin 1 ESF funding in view of her exceptional circumstances. [4739/97]

Under the regulations governing the ESF-aided scheme, trainees who have completed a two year certificate course are not eligible for assistance in respect of a further two year certificate course or a three year diploma course but they may be admitted to the third add-on year of a related diploma course.

As the student in question has completed a two year ESF-aided certificate course in Dublin Institute of Technology, Cathal Brugha Street, she is not eligible to receive further ESF-aided funding for the three year diploma course which she is now pursuing in Dublin Institute of Technology, Kevin Street.
