The Defence Forces review implementation plan provides for the recruitment of 400 personnel in 1997. The numbers to be recruited to the Army, Naval Service and Air Corps in 1997 has not yet been finalised; however, the enlistment of 200 general service recruits is currently under way and is expected to be completed by mid March.
