Vol. 475 No. 4

Written Answers. - Flood Relief.

Liam Aylward

Question:

87 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Finance if he will have arrangements made to have finance made available for the construction of a flood retaining wall at John's Quay, Kilkenny. [4833/97]

The finalisation of scheme proposals for alleviating flooding in Kilkenny city is the subject of ongoing discussions with the local authority. Pending agreement on and completion of the design it is obviously not possible to say what specific works might be included in a drainage scheme for Kilkenny city. When the complete design is agreed the question of provision of finance for the overall scheme will be considered.
