58 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Health the reason for the delay in approving an application for a medical card by a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and if he will have arrangements made to expedite this matter. [5661/97]
Limerick East): The determination of eligibility for a medical card is a matter for the chief executive officer of the relevant health board. I have, accordingly, referred the Deputy's question to the chief executive officer of the Southern Health Board for investigation and have requested him to reply directly to the Deputy.
