Vol. 476 No. 1

Written Answers. - European Full Employment Appeal.

Mary O'Rourke

Question:

10 Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment further to his reply to Parliamentary Question No. 134 of 4 December 1996, the reason he stated that the Government had not been approached in relation to the European Full Employment Appeal in view of the fact that detailed responses by Government Departments appeared months before in the first bulletin of the full employment appeal. [6198/97]

The Government as a body has not been approached in relation to the European Full Employment Appeal and as such the matter has not been formally considered by the Cabinet. However, I understand that some Ministers, along with other public representatives, were approached regarding this appeal and that some have signed it, including me.
