Vol. 476 No. 1

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Michael Ring

Question:

89 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice if she will instruct the Land Registry to register land for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo, free from all encumbrances, as set out in the Derelict Sites Act, 1990 in view of the fact that the delay is causing financial hardship and the matter has been ongoing for 18 months. [6350/97]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that judgment mortgages which are outstanding in relation to the property must be cancelled before the matter can proceed. I understand that notices were served on 3 March 1997 on owners of encumbrances and replies, if any, are awaited. Until any possible objections to the cancellations have been dealt with, the matter cannot proceed further in the Land Registry.

Joe Walsh

Question:

90 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for Justice if she will have arrangements made for the finalisation of registration for persons (details supplied) in County Cork. [6351/97]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that the correct dealing number in this case is D96CK10561U, and refers to a transfer of part which was relodged on 16 September 1996 having been originally lodged and rejected in 1995. I understand that queries issued to the lodging solicitor on 4 March 1997 and replies are awaited. It is not possible to estimate a completion date at this stage.
