99 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the sources of funding, if any, which are available to ensure that there is an objective scientific view of the impact of industry on the environment in view of the fact that the thrust of the White Paper is that scientists must serve industry. Forbairt's environmental services provide grants to companies to recruit consultants to assess the environmental impact of their plants and their compliance with environmental standards. Forbairt and IDA also require grant-aided companies to supply environmental clearance certificates before grants towards capacity expansion are paid.
