Vol. 476 No. 7

Written Answers. - Structural Funds.

Rory O'Hanlon

Question:

95 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Finance the amount of Structural Funds allocated under each heading to each region in 1997. [8349/97]

The operational programmes under which Structural Funds are committed are national sectoral programmes. The programmes do not contain specific regional allocations. The amount of funding which a region receives is determined by a combination of factors which include sectoral needs as determined in the operational programmes and demand from the regions for the various schemes of assistance under the different programmes.

The following are the latest projections by region of EU Structural Funds commitments for 1997 for each of the operational programmes under the Community Support Framework for Ireland 1994-99 as furnished by the lead Departments for the programmes. Figures are not yet available for the Environmental Services OP.
