Vol. 477 No. 2

Written Answers - Hospital Services.

Michael Ring

Question:

73 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo, currently in University College Hospital, Galway, will be given a venogram in view of the fact that he has been waiting since 20 March 1997 and he believes that the delay will result in amputation. [8784/97]

Limerick East): As the provision of vascular treatment to eligible persons in County Mayo is the statutory responsibility of the Western Health Board, in the first instance, I have asked the chief executive officer of the Western Health Board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
