Vol. 477 No. 7

Written Answers. - Bovine Diseases.

Joe Walsh

Question:

159 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason tuberculosis reactors were left in a herd in west Cork without disposal; and if he will make a statement on his Departmental policy in relation to this herd. [10277/97]

The Department's policy in relation to reactors is that they should be removed from holdings as quickly as possible. As regards the person referred to by the Deputy, the position is that no TB reactors were disclosed on the last two occasions when his herd was TB tested in June 1995 and September 1996.
