Vol. 478 No. 1

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Michael Finucane

Question:

157 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Education the current status of a school (details supplied) in County Limerick; and when it will receive final approval for construction of its extension. [10584/97]

The proposed extension at the school to which the Deputy refers is being undertaken by an architect engaged by the school management. The current position is that the school is expected to submit the cost plan to my Department shortly. When this is approved, the project can progress through the planning stages to the preparation of tender documentation. A decision on the timing of the tender and contract process will be taken in the light of available funds, when this project is ready for tender. Therefore, at this stage I am not in a position to state when construction will commence.
