117 Mr. O'Donoghue asked the Minister for Justice the number of gardaí assigned to and the cost of providing adequate supervision for the recent Garda pay demonstration in Dublin; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [11654/97]
The detailed allocation of Garda personnel and resources to individual areas is a matter for the Garda authorities.They have informed me that 22 gardaí — all ranks — were assigned, as part of their normal duties, to supervise the recent Garda pay demonstration in Dublin. No additional costs were incurred.
