Vol. 480 No. 2

Written Answers. - Tax-Free Allowances.

Tony Gregory

Question:

153 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Finance if he will have arrangements made to review the level of income tax assessed against a person (details supplied) in Dublin 7. [13787/97]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the Inspector of Taxes has examined the taxpayer's tax-free allowances and, on the basis of information currently available, the certificate of tax-free allowances which was sent to the taxpayer last April sets out the appropriate allowances. The taxpayer is therefore paying the correct amount of tax. If, however, the taxpayer has reason to believe that she is paying too much tax she should contact her Inspector of Taxes who will be pleased to assist and advise her.
