Vol. 480 No. 2

Written Answers. - IDA Offices.

Brendan Kenneally

Question:

80 Mr. Kenneally asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise and Employment if she will intervene with the IDA in order to secure the reopening of an IDA regional office in Waterford, particularly in view of the job losses at Bell Lines; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [14016/97]

IDA Ireland has had, and continues to have, a regional office in Waterford city. That office has been there since 1970. It has never been closed, and so the question of reopening it does not arise.

The regional office is located in the IDA Industrial Park, Cork Road, Waterford. It has responsibility for industrial development in Waterford, Wexford, Kilkenny, Carlow and south Tipperary.
