I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Durkan — the assessment of means of £30 per week against a person (details supplied) in County Kildare and the way in which means are derived; (2) Deputy Cooper-Flynn — the possible closure of the Asahi Plant in view of the detrimental impact the loss of 315 jobs will have on the north Mayo region and the difficulty in finding possible replacement jobs; and (3) Deputy McGuinness — the need to sanction the tender stage for school projects at the Church of Ireland National School and Gaelscoil Osrai in Kilkenny city.
The matters raised by Deputies Cooper-Flynn, Durkan and McGuinness have been selected for discussion.
