28 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Defence when the next intake of apprentices at Devoy Barracks, Naas, County Kildare, is likely to occur; the likely number to be recruited; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14177/97]

The question of an intake of apprentices in 1997 has been deferred for consideration until later in the year. Accordingly, no decision has been made regarding the final number of apprentices that may be recruited.
