Vol. 481 No. 1

Written Answers. - Headache and Migraine Clinic.

Theresa Ahearn

Question:

159 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will provide sufficient funding to the Irish Migraine Association to provide a headache and migraine clinic; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15378/97]

I have received representations on behalf of the Irish Migraine Association regarding the need for a headache and migraine clinic. I understand that the association has been in communication with Beaumont Hospital on the matter. However, to date I have received no proposals from the hospital in this regard.

On receipt of such proposals, they will fall to be considered within the context of the hospital's priorities and the many competing demands for resources within the acute health sector.
