202 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the proposals, if any, she has for the continued development of Castletown House; the plans, if any, she has for its use in 1998; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [15721/97]
: I am pleased to confirm that the contract for phase II of the works to the main block of Castletown House which involves mechanical, electrical, fire and security work and structural repairs, is to be placed in the very near future. This will mean that the house will be closed to the public for the remainder of 1997 and for most of 1998 while these works are in progress.
