Carey asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation the way in which it is proposed to develop schemes such as the Sport for All Leadership Programme, the Sport for All Co-ordinators Programme and the General Philosophy of Sport for All, pending the establishment of a statutory sports council; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Proposals are under consideration in my Department on the question of the enhancement and further development of sport for all, recreational sport and the associated leadership programmes, in accordance with overall sports policy, and in anticipation of the establishment of a statutory sports council. In the meantime, these schemes continue to be implemented by my Department in co-operation with vocational education committees and other organisations.
