Vol. 481 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Question:

82 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a 1997 ewe premium and sheep headage premium appeal will be finalised for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo in view of the fact that the appeal was lodged some time ago. [15990/97]

My Department has an independent appeals unit which herdowners may appeal to if they disagree with a decision made regarding penalties imposed on their premium and headage payments.

To date the appeals unit has no record of having received an appeal from the person named. Until such time as an appeal is lodged, the herdowner's claim cannot be considered further.
