Vol. 481 No. 4

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin

Question:

45 Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government his Department's intentions towards the community of Tydavnet, County Monaghan, who seek early approval for the provision of a conventional sewerage treatment system; and if he will accede to their request to meet him at his earliest convenience. [16236/97]

A preliminary report for this scheme has been submitted to my Department but, given the high level of commitments under the water and sewerage investment programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to approve it. In these circumstances, I do not consider that meeting a deputation at this time would serve any useful purpose.

Ruairí Quinn

Question:

46 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when a sewerage treatment facility will be provided for Kilmacow, County Kilkenny; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16286/97]

Given the high levels of commitments under the water and sewerage investment programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to approve this proposal.
