Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Gay Mitchell — the need to deal with the deplorable state of Cork Street, Dublin 8, which is the last derelict main route to the city centre; (2) Deputy Cooper-Flynn — the progress of the north Mayo enterprise initiative on securing new employment for the north Mayo region as Asahi is due to cease trading in November with the loss of 315 jobs; (3) Deputy Ring — the urgent need to confirm when a school transport problem will be resolved for Killawalla national school in County Mayo; (4) Deputy Durkan — the subject matter of Parliamentary Question No. 110 of 1 October 1997; (5) Deputy Connaughton — the need to make public the results of a survey commissioned into the causes of the flooding problems in the Gort area of County Galway and if the findings will be laid before a public meeting of interested parties and financial assistance committed to the findings of this report; (6) Deputy Naughten — the urgent need to provide funding for the County Hospital in Roscommon; (7) Deputy Perry — the need to increase the funding subsidy provided to Knock airport to enable it extend its services; (8) Deputy Neville — the need to sanction the extension to replace the prefabricated classrooms at Pallaskenry national school, County Limerick; (9) Deputy Gerard Reynolds — the need to provide finance to Sligo Harbour Commissioners to enable them complete urgent dredging and ancillary works to secure the future of the port; and (10) Deputies McGrath and Penrose — the need to sanction the staff requirement to utilise new casualty, radiological and CAT imaging departments at the Longford-Westmeath General Hospital in Mullingar.

The matters raised by Deputies Perry, Connaughton, McGrath and Penrose and Ring have been selected for discussion.
