Vol. 481 No. 5

Written Answers - Health Board Funding.

Jack Wall

Question:

96 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the extra funding, if any, which will be made available to the Eastern Health Board in relation to the care of the elderly grant scheme for repairs to houses and so on, in view of the extraordinary number of cases which cannot be dealt with because of financial constraints; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16635/97]

The Eastern Health Board has been notified of an additional allocation of £210,000 by the task force which, under the aegis of my Department, administers the scheme of special housing aid for the elderly, bringing to £270,000 the board's total allocation for 1997.
