35 Mr. Cosgrave asked the Minister for Education and Science the functions he had delegated to the former Minister of State for Science and Technology; and whether these will be also assigned to his successor. [16684/97]
When Deputy Michael Smith was appointed Minister of State with responsibility for science and technology in my Department I assigned to him responsibility for matters relating to scientific and technological research and development in the third level education sector. I have assigned the same responsibility to his successor, the Minister of State, Deputy Noel Treacy.
