Question:

185 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of trips made by Irish civil servants in his Department over the past two years on official business to Luxembourg; and the cost of those trips. [17131/97]

Civil servants from my Department visited Luxembourg on EU-related business on 58 occasions during the past two years. The gross cost of these visits amounted to £58,000. The net cost to my Department, after deduction of the costs recoverable from the European Commission, is £26,000.
