122 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources if he has received a request from Sligo Harbour Commissioners seeking his approval for the leasing of a harbour board property (details supplied) to a person (details supplied) in County Sligo; if he is satisfied that the advertising and tendering procedure relating to the lease of the property was carried out in accordance with normal tendering policy; his response to the request from the Harbour Commissioners; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My predecessor received a request from Sligo Harbour Commissioners seeking his approval for the leasing of a harbour board property in December 1996.

Normal procedures appear to have been followed in advertising for and processing of tenders for the property in question. However, investigations are not fully completed and I have not, as yet, given my formal approval to the granting of this lease.
