On 4 June, 1997, Bord Scannán na hÉireann — the Irish Film Board established, under section 16 of the Irish Film Board Act, 1980, a committee to which would be delegated the functions of a Screen Commission on behalf of the board. I am considering the appropriateness of this structure in the context of my review of film policy generally.
