Vol. 482 No. 3

Written Answers. - Crop Damage.

Ivan Yates

Question:

133 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if pea growers will be included in consideration for financial assistance in any weather related loss compensation or damage scheme; if so, when and the rate involved; and if persons (details supplied) in County Wexford, who have submitted their details through Teagasc and who have sustained very heavy losses, will be considered for this scheme. [17803/97]

Assessments have been made by Teagasc of the weather related damage to crops on individual farms which are being examined at present. No decision has been taken on the issue of compensation to growers who have been affected.
