224 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for Health and Children if the remaining stages of planning in relation to the nursing units at Virginia and Ballyconnell, County Cavan are near completion; when it is proposed to have tenders invited in this regard; when construction work will commence; the extra level of funding which will be made available in order to proceed with these projects; and if he will make a statement on the matter. It is expected that the remaining stages of planning in respect of the nursing units at Virginia and Ballyconnell will be completed in 1998.

The question of proceeding to tender stage and commencement of construction work will be considered in the light of the availability of capital funding in 1998.
