Question:252 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the plans, if any, he has to introduce a registration system for bicycles in view of the fact that theft has reached epidemic proportions and one resident of Terenure, Dublin 6W has reported that £3,500 worth of bicycles were stolen from him from Christmas 1996 to date in 1997.
