403 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Education and Science when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be approved for a school transport grant on medical grounds in view of the fact that she applied some time ago. [17991/97]

I can confirm that an application for a school transport medical grant for the pupil in question was received by my Department in September of this year.

A report is awaited in this case from Bus Éireann.

I can assure the Deputy that, as soon as this report is received and considered by my Department, a decision will be conveyed to the family involved without delay.
