Vol. 482 No. 3

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Question:

426 Mr. Hayes asked the Minister for Education and Science when his Department intends to proceed with the building of a school-hall at Ballycragh national school, Dublin 24 in view of the commitment by his Department in relation to this project; the projected timescale involved before a decision is finally reached in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18209/97]

A building project at Ballycragh national school, Dublin 24, is included in my Department's capital programme.

My Department's architectural staff have commenced the planning for the project. When all the planning work for the project is completed a decision will be taken on the timing of the tender and contract process in the light of existing contractual commitments and available capital funding.

At this stage, I am not in a position to give a definitive time-scale for the scheme.
