Vol. 482 No. 4

Written Answers - Forestry Imports.

Michael Ring

Question:

70 Mr. Ring asked the Taoiseach the value of forestry nursery plants imported for each of the years from 1995 to date in 1997. [18332/97]

External trade figures are available up to June 1997. The value of live forestry imports was £308,000 in 1995, £121,000 in 1996 and £184,000 in the six month period January-June 1997.

It should be noted that, overall, approximately 7 per cent of trade is unclassified by commodity. The unclassified trade consists mainly of intra-EU estimates, including estimates for traders below the import survey threshold of £100,000.
