Vol. 482 No. 5

Written Answers - Driving Licences.

Brendan Daly

Question:

122 Mr. Daly asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the proposals, if any, he has to declare the United States as a recognised country for driving licence exchange purposes. [18401/97]

Given considerable divergences in driver testing regimes which still exist, it is not proposed at present to provide for the exchange of American driving licences for Irish licences.
