345 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands when fences will be provided for a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim which are part of the works on the Ballinamore and Ballyconnell canal. [18729/97]

347 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the action, if any, her Department is taking regarding having fences replaced on lands of a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim which were removed as part of work on the Shannon and Erne waterway. [18875/97]

A claim for compensation was received from the landowner in question but was subsequently withdrawn in February 1996. The Waterways Service has not received a further claim. The claimant is entitled to lodge a claim to cover all aspects for which he requests compensation and such a claim will be examined and decided on following its receipt.
